Reflection

In my personal case I really enjoyed the classes, both from
the creative and technical part.
Thanks to my engineering background I could also use my skills
and knowledge to make something playful.
The truth is the final design we made comes from just
playing around with shapes and forgetting about the function
of stable foot. From that I started analysing it and said “why
not?”. It could work if we would double cast it. However, after
consulting the idea with teacher we had to change the idea. So I
spent weekend on thinking how to keep the, cylinder shape and
balancing idea without double casting.
That’s how we decided to go for two paper cups and the
rest. I have to admit my duo was very helpful during the whole
course.
About the process I really enjoyed learning ceramics. Now
I will know why paper model isn’t the smartest idea (We had to
destroy it to take it out of the mould. And all the small bends
caused me to spend way more time on blending the teapot after.
Personally I decided to decrease the time from 40min to 35min,
decreasing the thicknes from ~6,7mm to ~5,9mm.
And I hope the technical sketches provided are simple
enough to understand them without PhD in science.
